I hope the pedal is light. Man when I had the Spec Stage III in my 94 I hated driving it. I will never sacrifice the way I feel about driving a car by how heavy and bulky the clutch is. I didn't drive it much for this reason.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

I had one of the old SPEC 3 clutches were a little grabby, but the new ones are fine. Did you have a 4 puck or a 6 puck SPEC?

The orginals were 4 pucks on the disk. I had one of those and broke the hup in it. It only had 3 rivets holding it together. Then I went to the newer one which had 6 rivets and 6 pucks. It was a little smoother than the old one. Both of them were very streetable.

Good to hear they updated there design I've always swayed away from spec because years ago a friend broke one like you describe. He cracked his right on one of the rivets and it only had 3 or so.

Yeah, I'm a pretty loyal SPEC customer. Not that I think that there are no other good clutches out there, but SPEC customer service absolutely kicks ass. They always listen, and are willing to help me if I have an issue. I remember when I had a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. The clutch lasted maybe 3 passes on the track. It disintegrated right off the line, and Centerforce wouldn't admit that the clutch was junk. The guy on the phone was a dick. When I broke my first SPEC 3, I called SPEC, and the tech guy admitted that they had not built that orginal disk as well as they should, and offered me the new and improved disk for free. I stepped up to SPEC 4+ when I swapped to a 28 spline input shaft on my Tremec. Anyone who says you can't drive a solid hub clutch on the street is full of it. It works just fine on the street. I sold my old SPEC 3 for $100. The chick who bought it is still driving on it. There must be 100K on that original SPEC pressure plate, and at least 70K miles on that SPEC disk, and I gave it some good track time on slicks.

I have a spec II and it's OK on the street as long as I don't get caught at really long lights.. King Cobra is about as nasty as I'll go on most 10 spline input shafts...

I got the wife's KC clutch from Billet Depot on Ebay. It was drop shipped from UPR, it's a Valeo King Cobra kit (same as FRPP but without the $40 Ford Racing box). 169 shipped IIRC..
