I bought a 98 mustang standard transmission and the clutch was out. I got it on a deal, and after replacing the clutch, the pedal is "loose". The adjustment mechanism on the pedal doesn't work. If your foot catches the pedal, even on accident, it zips up and you have to release it and move it back down. I know I probably need a new pedal assembly that's under the dash, but do any of you have any ideas as to why this happens? Thanks

It kinda sounds like it could need a new clutch adjustment quadrant. They're not too expensive and I don't think it's too hard to install.
