how do i get out the clutch pilot bearing i have been told to do wet paper towls and pownd them in and i have been trying that for about an hour and a half now and have not accomplised anything really any advice ? i realize a puller would probably be the easiest way but i dont have a car to go buy one and this is hopefully one of hte last things holding me up before i can drop in my motor

haha so i just got it out i could not get any of the ideas mentioned above to work so i fashioned my own tool to pull it out its a combination of a slide hammer i think its called and two diffrent types of steering wheel pullers... :rlaugh: im going to have to post up a picture of it just for a good laugh..but after i got this thing working it only took me about two min to get the bushing out haha oh thank god for random tools that fit together haha but thank you so much guys i did try the grese and i just think i got more dirty than ever but i could definatly see how it would work that stuff has alot of pressure when you pack it. oh and i will post some pictures of the engine when i get back to my house in tempe thanks alot guys :D

Or you could just get the proper tool for the job. You guys do know they make pilot bearing/bushing pullers right ? Ever wonder why they have that notched out section on the back side of them ? The best tool for the job is always the right tool for the job.
