Here's the problem I'm having, the car (2000 GT) makes this weird, rapid squeaking-type noise a lot of the time while driving or even at idle and when I put my foot on the clutch, the noise stops. Any ideas?
Throwout bearing...or if you are lucky its just the clutch fork hitting the bellhousing (or rubbing). That was my problem. Check for free fixes before you pull out the wallet, drop your pants, and clinch the pillow.
I would rule out a throw out bearing, because if you remember, the bearing spins when you step on the clutch and the input shaft of the tranny dosn't. if the noise goes away when you step on the clutch it usually something with the tranny.
My 02 does the same thing. I thought it was just the noisy throw out bearing that a lot of 3650's have a problem with. The clutch seems to work fine, so I'm not gonna worry about it until something breaks.
$30 part, just takes a bit of work to get to it and this is usually when people replace clutches simply because you're down there. You don't have to though, but if you're close to or over 60k miles I would.
Going in this weekend to replace my TOB, it's starting to squeal again. (sounds like crickets)
