Err... is it just me, or is the throwout bearing completely unattached from your clutch fork?

Can you move the clutch leaver up and down (vertically)?
Not sure about that tb, maybe backwards?

No movement up or down and not sure about the tb bearing. I do know that it starts slipping and about 2500 rpm’s. This car is going to drive me crazy.

It worked fine for a couple years like this, but started slipping a couple days ago. Only about 1,000 miles in that timeframe though.

Could my clutch fork be bent? If so, any recommendations or links to the one I’d need?

No. If it were bent, it would be bent the other way.

Something is wrong with that TO Bearing. I think Karthief may be right in that it looks backwards and unattached from the clutch fork.

Light up that tb and look to see if it's still attached to the lever and the ball at the other end, can't believe that tb would go a thousand miles and not be screaming in pain if on backwards, I'd be surprised if it worked at all but sure appears that way.

Just jacked the car up again and put new batteries in the flashlight. The TB appears to be attached. Argh!!!

I'm thinking maybe the pivot ball is either too long or came unattached/broke somehow.

Unless I've got my geometry screwed up, this would me the fork get bound up or hit the back of the bellhousing.

Do I have things backwards?

Can you move the lever back and forth at the ball end with a screwdriver.
Is there any play at all at the lever?

I’ve got no play at the fork on the end sticking out of the bh. Not sure I can get to the other side through the fork window to see what I’m doing.

One last question. I do have an adjustable quadrant. The cable is on the hook furthest away from the firewall, or at the top of the quadrant and the firewall adjuster is screwed all the way in. Is it supposed to be on the hook closest to the firewall and could this have any effect on my fork position?

Ok, my first thought is you have too many adjustment points.
How far does the fork move when you push in the clutch

About 1/2 way through the BH/fork window.

No. The quadrant has nothing to do with how far back your clutch fork rests with any air gap between the TO bearing and PP.

Can you adjust the ball at the other end of the clutch fork without taking out the trans?

I can't see the ball hooked into the fork, so don't know how I'd go about doing this. It goes into the shop tomorrow, so hopefully I'll know what the deal is soon.
