this may sound like a really obvious question but here goes. Can a bad clutch that still engages and disengages make your car seem like the power is jus dead? my clutch in my stang works so to speak but i think it might jus be shot and not holding the power so to speak. its a very dumb question to most of you but this is the only clutch thats ever been in this car since ive owned it and my other car which is also a stick is on the original clutch and im original owner. the mustang has a trickflow h/c/i package and all supporting bolt ons. the car when you get up on jus doesnt pull hard anymore and the clutch feels spongy. can a clutch not be totally "dead" but weak enough where your car jus feels flat out slow?

If the clutch is on its way out, to the point where you feel a loss of power....then it should be breaking loose and allowing your RPMs to climb as if you were not in gear.

When you feel a loss of power now, do your RPMs still climb in a normal pace at WOT...or do your RPMs shoot up at WOT as if you were not in gear?

You can take the car out and shift into 3rd at too low of a speed....so you go into 3rd and you are at about 1500rpms. Then stomp to WOT and see if the clutch disengages. If it does, then it is on its way out. If the car just climbs slowly, then you most likely have an engine issue.
