I guess I should first introduce myself, I used to own an '84 GT Turbo convertible which I reently sold. I replaced it with a '95 coupe. I am pretty happy with the new car but I have a clutch problem.

It is hard to get it to shift into gears sometimes. It grabs fine, but does not want to go into gears. I was seeing that other Stangs may have problems with cables stretching or the quadrant having problems. Does this problem happen on these Stangs? Where might I get a cable and quadrant?

I think the T5 tranny are crap in our cars and I think it is common. The best thing to do would be to change the tranny fluid, get the clutch/quadrant cable. go to www.steeda.com and you can get the whole assembly for around 100 bucks. Although I think it will improve things for you, these trannies are crap in my opinion and you may still have some problems with it but it will be improved I'm sure.

Greenbioch, allthough I do respect your opinions and statements most of the time, I must disagree with you about the T5 being crap. It has served us well for many years, and I still enjoy looking at my ex fiancee's truck and knowing she shelled out twice as much for her 5r55e tranny than I would ever have to shell out for a new T5. Yes it's an old tranny design, but like the chevy 350 its an almost bullet proof design.

I suppose I'm just pissed at it cause I have that notchy feeling to it sometimes going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I have tried a few different tranny fluids which don't really change much about the behaviour of it. I think I'm gonna try the clutch cable and quadrant once I get this head cam swap done in the spring, hopefully that will help.
