I have a 2000 GT, It came with a spec stage 1 clutch. The clutch pedal is way to hard to push down. I got a bbk clutch cable with firewall adjuster and that didnt help. Im looking for a clutch that is high performance but still has a light clutch pedal like stock. I search for some answers but couldnt find anything.

I dont think it is just the SPEC clutch itself making the pedal tight.
You may have an aftermarket clutch quadrant installed.
For example: the STEEDA "quick release" quadrant makes the pedal more stiffer than usual..........That may be why.... :flag:

Yeah man, I have a Spec Stage II in mine and its only a hair tougher than the stock one was to put in. When it was first put in, it did feel really tight and the release point was REALLY high, but the guy said there is a quadrant under there that gets stuck. He put the clutch all the way in, twisted his foot real hard, I heard a faint popping sound, almost crapped myself, then found out the clutch felt great :nice: Its just as easy as the stock one to push in and the release point is right in the middle. Its been on the car for over 800 miles now and I LOVE the thing. Thats the thing Ive heard with Spec though, you either love them or hate them. I think a lot of it has to do with install though, my .02c.

It must be the install...I've heard opinions both ways on this and other clutches. My wife's 01 had a SPEC 2 in it that was VERY heavy. We decided to have a King Cobra installed after getting really tired of the stop and go commute of daily traffic. The installer said the SPEC 2 was not installed properly - (he didn't elaborate, but probably would have lost me anyway). He installed the King Cobra, Steeda 'blue' dbl pickup quad, adj cable and firewall adj. The pedal effort was MUCH lighter, but a new problem came up - the pedal was too high! He said that is typical with an aftermarket dbl pickup quad (don't know how true that is). But he offered to install the Steeda 'red' steep ramp, quick release quad for $30 and that would fix the problem. Know what? He was right! Now the pedal effort is just a little more than my stock clutched 02...and the pedal travel is nearly exactly the same.
