i am converting my 1986 mustang from AOD to manual. I cant seem to find the location of the clutch safety switch, wat you conect to the clutch pedal to only let car start if pedal is depressed. if you could tell me where it is (try to be as specific as possible).

Also, when i was removing the aod brake asembly, i accidently broke off the piece of the plactic thing that pushed some thing that was hooked up to a vaccum hose i believe..... dont kno if that made sense, but i was wondering if it was really needed....

The clutch safety switch you are referring to is located on the pedal assembly itself. It is located on the opposite side of the pedal assembly as the clutch quadrant, driven by the same shaft that the quadrant pivots on. Press the clutch pedal while looking at the other side of the pedal assembly and you should see a white piece of plastic moving into a connector with two plugs going into it. I recently bought a new one of these at the local parts store for around $45 I think it was. I can probably grab some excellent pictures for you if you can't find it, but it will take me a while to find the camera, just let me know if it's necessary, I currently have my pedal assembly out of the car.
