My car ever since ive gotten it and ever since its been around.. has always grinded second.. no matter what you do you could take 5 mins to get into it but it will still grind.. i have no idea wth is the problem.. it slows down your speed shifting at the track..

since it will be out, i would just have it rebuilt. you will be lucky to get a year out of it if you only replace syncros. Its possible but not a good idea. You will already have the thing out, it would be cheaper to rebuild now. You can also check out the gears to see how bad they are.

I had the same problem and thought thats the way the car was. Then I installed the MM cable/ quadrant and adjuster. Now I can shift as fast as I like.

In my case my tranny always grinds into second when I either shift above 3500 or shift very fast. Could it just be the syncros or can my clutch be adjusted incorrectly? btw my clutch sits alot higher than the brake and disengages fairly high up.

The cheepest way will be to get the MM clutch cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster. I think I paid like $135. My car used to gring 1st to 2nd and 2nd- 3rd.
