im not familiar with that brand but most stage 1 cams will sound stock once tuned... you have to run a pretty big cam to get it to chop with a 2v.

idle rpm - it's a really simple adjustment. If i'm not mistaken i remember mine being 850 or 900. Stock is like 500/550 which leaves the cam constantly almost dying depending on how drastic the cam is.

My rev limiter is set to 6500 too I have a camera pic taken by my friend while data logging of it at 6450 - but dont know how to upload it to online from my phone.

mine is idling at 1k after install , the idle is working out after the car got to run around abit , a neat trick i learned turning the A/C ON drops the engine rpm by 100-150 which makes it less chobby , it almost sound stock really but the exhaust defiantly sounds louder.

wounder how if you get anything out of revving it up to 6450'ish

as for uploading from your phone , try using bluetooth to transfer the file over to your PC and then upload it to youtube

yea i figured as much , i pulled today at work and everyone noticed the idle and people were like... what did you do to the engine , should see the grin on my face , i am not realy hating the idle , i am getting used to it and loving it

Stage IIs will make the 2v have a nice chop.

most likely not - my peak is around 5900-6100 that i can tell from my last crappy dyno chart, but that's with ported heads. 6400 was just for datalogging so the tune would be spot on in case i ever did go that high again.

and those stage 2's are huge as *****... 224/235 duration isnt it? thats a lot for a little motor that doesnt rev.

how high are most people turning stock headed motors those CMS/VT Stage 1 cams? i figured instead of shifting at 5600 id have to shift at 6k....

I may pass up on the set of wheels and spring for Stage II's + Install if I can really get by with less than 300 for labor.

Don't expect it - that's stupid low for an install and a bit weird. Also, don't forget stage II's require the changing of springs.

Yeah, 500 for cams, 200 for springs, 300 for labor would be a nice chunk of at least +20RWHP. That's an acceptable price for that type of gain.

And if you do the labor yourself its even better. After this rear gets built im gonna start saving for a head/cam swap. If all goes the way i want it to that is.

i find it rather expensive here , my brother owns a caprice ( 4-door Ls1 powered ) and the cam + spring install was $120 with pullies and thermostats was a 2 hours job , so i thought i was getting robbed when i payed that much money for my car

the car dynoed 361 rwhp and some smiliar torque with only boltons through an auto

vid of the thing running with awfull 3.02 gears in the rearend:

OHV cam install is way different - i'd do 2 of those before i'd do another one of mine, you dont even really need to "time/degree" since it's driven off the crank basically.
