I finally got the last parts from Santa yesterday and finished my Cobra brake install today!!

Here's a few pics of the install:

Gutted PV from a 1981 Mustang: (yes I need to clean the engine compartment)

Rear with Steeda Sport springs, Tokico Illumina shocks, Monroe quad shocks, used 97 Cobra axles, and new 3.73 gears in the POR15'ed diff housing:

Front with Steeda springs, Tokico Illumina struts and 95 spindles & hubs:

Another front wiht rotors and calipers:

Here's the car with new 98 Cobra rims and BFG KDW 245-45-17 tires.

Another side shot:

Brakes work great. Feels pretty good with 93 MC and stock booster. I may eventually get a 93 Cobra booster, but this works fine for now. Tomorrow I need to fully bed the pads and rotors in, and play with the adjustable proportioning valve to see how it really works. I did a home front end alignment and ran to the tire store to get an alignment, they said it was pretty close! The total cost for the brakes alone was $1352. Thats $800-900 less than the M2300K kit for the same thing.

Cool, now I know exactly how my car will look when I finally do finish it. Sub the black calipers though with the 10th anniversary cobra ones

I really should paint my rotors before they go on. What type of paint did you use and how did you do it?

I used low gloss engine paint to take the heat. I just cleaned them with brake cleaner and masked off where the pads ride then sprayed them with two coats of paint.

Looks sweet!! Hew btw, looks like your rack is pretty new, did you use a '95 steering rack as well to match the spindles etc?
