I know some of you guys have ordered this brake upgrade kit

But do you need the SS Hoses to install this properly? And does anyone know the quality of the brake pads that come with the calipers?

Also, while I think of it, could it be cheaper to buy just the calipers, and order some cross-drilled rotors elsewhere? If anyone can save me a few bucks, I sure would appreciate it!

looks like standard frpp stuff that prolly comes with the "black" pads that are good street pads, they came in my 10th anniv calipers. the only thing wrong i see witht this pic is that they don't give you a newer master cyl which is what you would get if you bought the baer cobra kit. as far as cost goes you would be hard pressed to piece it together for cheaper.

my pads don't dust that much, but if i were to do it over i would have bought hawk pads. i just ordered the baer ai gran touring kit for my 94 and should have a complete report in the upcoming weeks. just my thoughts, save the money and buy the baer cobra conversion. it just seems a little more complete and for not that much more. check out brothersperformance.com

Just a side note about the Cobra calipers. There are two different banjo bolts for the Cobra calipers. One of them is a coarse thread and the other is a fine thread. The coarse thread can be purchased from any dealership that sells FRPPs but to find the fine thread is a real pain. It is a part number that is used on certain older Licolns.
