Just got done installing a set of cobra 13" rotors, cobra calipers and ss lines. The car brakes much better now. The pedal feel is a lot firmer which I like. Definitely recommend this upgrade

sometimes the best prices for factory cobra calipers/rotors/etc, are at you local napa, just put your old stuff back in the boxes so you don't lose the core money.

To me doing that wasnt worth it. It was $66/ea for a remanufactured, loaded caliper, plus another $35/ea for brackets. Thats $190 plus tax, and I paid $189 plus $20 s/h for brand new 10th anniv calipers with brackets. The Mach units can be had for $170, which are also new and even come with brackets.

As for rotors I wont settle for anything less than factory Brembos or the Raybestos PG series (which is the same, just a dirtier casting).

Overall the cheapest set-up would be the Mach 1 kit, inexpensive rotors, and rubber lines.

Got the calipers and lines from stangsuspension.com. The rotors I got off ebay for $55. All in I spent around $325 for the fronts. I bedded the brakes yesterday and I was impressed with the stopping power. They also look great...almost attracts the attention away from my ugly tri-bars Install was easy, they bolted right up.
I'll post pics this weekend.

so are most of you guys running factory rears with the cobra fronts?

I am in need of new rear brakes and can't afford to go cobra back there right now but hope to go cobra up front this summer..

Well, I don't know if anyone else has seen it or not, But if you want a cheap upgrade, the local Advance Auto advertises Bendix Brakes (which are powder coated, and look similar to the cobra/mach/bullitt) for alot less. I don't think you'll notice a performance difference, but if you're not really pushing your car to the limits, and just want some looks, it's a thought.

I ordered my cobra kit from Diversified for $299 four years ago. Then I sold the Factory Rotors and got a set of the drilled/slotted fronts from Gene Evans Ford. The 199 that I paid for them now seems a bit steep because better deals can be had on the bay. Plus these rotors are not zinc coated or anything and they rust like a biach! This makes the insides of your wheels really messy but I am one of those weird people that keeps the backs of my wheels as clean as the fronts. I matched the rotors on the rear in the factory size. Looks killer, but with the big BBS wheels in the back I am going to add the bear 13 inch rear kit later this year. I like the feel and the stopping power but I am having a difficult time finding someone to turn the rotors. It is getting to be that time so I may just grab some new ones off the bay. So I guess the answer is, yes you can run the Cobra's up front and the stock rears.

I'm going with Brembo rotors all around. In fact I bought them 15 months ago when my motor blew. Sold them on Ebay and wish I hadn't. I'll do the Cobra calipers at the same time.

Joe, what makes the Brembro Rotors better?
I thought it was their calipers that wer so much better than the Cobras.
