need some quick advice.i have a 95 gt with a cobra front brake upgrade.the brakes feel a little soft at times and my mechanic told me that they should have changed the master cylinder out to a cobra cylinder to give off the extra pressure needed for the upgrade. does anyone know if this is true or not? also i need to upgrade the fuel pump. the car is putting out about 325 hp and im putting on a 100 shot of nitrous.should i go with the 255 walbro or 190 ? they are the same price. can a 255 be overkill for the car or good for future upgrades?thanks guys

Your mechanic is right about the master cylinder, although I don't know of anyone who has actually done. I would try bleeding the brakes real good and if that doesn't give you the pedal feel you want then try the cobra master cylinder.

As far as the fuel pump go with the walbro 255 high pressure. I don't think you can go overkill on the pump, it's more based on the injector.

Actually im pretty sure the Cobra MC will make the pedal feel 'lighter' the stock GT MC makes it really stiff. I know mine with my GT MC and Cobra Brakes they are super stiff and really nice, like 1/2" down and its breaking good.

Going to a Cobra MC will make the peddle softer. A problem with the GT MC is that it's larger than the Cobra and the peddle can feel rock hard. Power bleed the system before you do any swaps.

this is correct. my recommendation would also be to bleed the brakes again.

thanks

peddle started off pretty firm but didnt actually stop the car good.figured with the upgrade it should stop on a dime?got the cobra mc and install for 150 dollars so im dropping it off today for the install.will let u know how it turns out.also went with the 255 fuel pump. thanks for the info, just wanted to make surte the mechanic wasnt jerking me on the mc.

no matter what you have done to the car, i would always go with a 255lph pump. it is big enough to support quite a bit of hp and being that the mustang has a fuel system with a return, if you are under utilizing the pump, all the unused gas gets sent right back to the gas tank.
