we modified a 95 cobra with gt 40 heads, bbk headers, cold air-intake, 75mm throttle body, ford racing 30lb red top injectors, granitelli maf and are having problems with it idleing. it sounds perfect once over 1000 rpm but will cut out as soon as we let it idle. also the car does a self-diagnostic every time we turn the key on where the fans will self test at high and low. when the fan kicks in with the vehicle on, the idle jumps to 1900 rpm on its own and spits a 0543, 0542 codes for the fuel pump. is it possible that the computer just needs to be re-programmed or is it something else?

with no more mods than that , put the stock injectors , stock MAF back on , and then see what it does ....

Keep in mind that STOCK injectors for a Cobra computer are 24 lbers. Not 19s. The Granatelli meter should be calibrated for 19s though. IN other words: With a Cobra computer, you should have a meter calibrated Ford stock along with 24 lb injectors.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. What is the calibration on the Granatelli meter?

30s are to much.. numbers cant beat the actual experience of needing smaller injectors.. and im with daggar 100%.. go with 24s and make sure the MAF snesor is calibrated for 19s

Or ditch the Cobra computer and grab up an A9L or A9P. When a meter is calibrated for specific sized injector (sight unseen for a Fox), they're calibrated based on the fuel tables in these computers.

The cobra computer for 94-95's is much better than the 94-95 GT computer (a reason why Gt people run the J file). And going down to an A9 series is a large step down IMHO. Add in needing fan a controller, etc and it is not a wise move.

I would be tracing the code running situation down first and then take it from there. Is the meter/puter combo calibrated for the 30's?

Good luck.
