Cobra guys are you tired of reaching for 5th?

Having to reach for 5th gear was driving me a little bat ****. Roush makes an old school shifter handle that brings your knob closer. Yea yea oh ahuhhuh he said knob. Posting this while watching Beavis and Butthead.

The Roush handle is designed to reuse the bushings from the stock handle. Too mushy for me I like my handle tight.

Steeda sells some aluminum bushings. These are for a TKO but they also work on my application.

The intention was to use the Hurst T-handle. After dicking around with that for awhile (somewhat satisfying) I screwed on my Fat Knob. Yea yea hhuhhuhhhh ahhhh he said fat knob yea yea. click me

I know a couple of you guys have the handle already. You might want to try out the aluminum bushings.

Blah blah blah blah. Here are the pics.

This one comes back even further than your mod Paul. Keith, where did you order it from? Price? PM me details, inquiring minds want to know....

ok, what have I started??? looks like a fad now.

The Roush lever can be purchased at Roush Performance online. I think I paid $104 plus shipping for the lever.

Keith you should have just tried the MGW handle, I can reach 5th easily without any effort. I have the Pro 5.0 shifter so maybe it is making the difference.

The MGW is about $30 and has the same shape, and as a added bonus adjustable up and down.

Jordan,

The knob is from Fat Knob. http://www.fatknobs.com/mustang.html

Jesse,
I tried your MGW. Very well made piece but doesn't come back far enough.

Paul,
So? And I said Cobra guys. Ghetto style doesn't apply.

Hmmm, Sounds like you have the same short arm problem I have. I got the fully adjustable MGW, but it is still a reach for my.

May have to order a Roush.

Does Roush make stereo control button extenders?! I have to reach for the radio too!

I've had a chance to drive it for awhile. This new handle is so much better.

Ben,
You can check it out tonight at SB. Not sure about the button extenders though.

Keith, I have to agree with you! The lever makes shifting sooo much better. Brings it back enough it feels more comfortable also.

How much mush do you have using the rubber bushings? The aluminium bushings are tight.

Kinda cool not needing to modify the boot. I will mod it though. Gotta get some more value by displaying the Roush name.

This is the most comfortable shifter handle/position I've felt.

Keith - The play is not so bad, but I think I will try the metal bushing like you have.
