I think I have a problem here.

My car was a little choppy at lower RPM this weekend, so I pulled codes and among them got "15 ECA MEM FAILURE". So I know the ECA is the computer, and mine is a brand new reman that is 3 years old. It has a chip in it.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but aside from making sure the pins in the chip are seated well and the harness is too, what should I look for?

Thanks in advance :)

The add on chips sometimes cause code 15. Unless it is a custom dyno tune chip, pull it out and try driving the car & dumping the codes again. If it goes away, you know that it is the add on chip causing the problem.

These are KOEO codes, FWIW. And it is a custom burned/dyno run chip.

My TPS is out of range as well. Would that be causing my car to die out at idle?

So is my SCT chip Dave, and yeah TPS out could definately be a contributing factor if not the cause..try to get it under .98V or contact the tuner to see what he was using for a setting when the chip was burnt.

Yea, I couldn't barely get it under 2V yesterday. It's not even close. The parts store, of course, had none so I couldn't do it tonight.

If the TPS refuses to get below 1 volt and you are sure that it isn't setting crooked on the throttle body, check the TPS signal ground.

Adjusting the TPS fails to resolve the problem:
Check the black/white wire resistance. Connect one ohmmeter lead to the black/white wire on the TPS and one lead to the negative post on the battery. You should see less than .5 ohm, more than that indicates a problem. Always take resistance measurements with the circuit powered off.

Clean the 10 pin salt & pepper shaker connectors.
