Hey Guys, don't have a lot of time to try to search this out.
My wife has a 93 LX 2.3L and it has been "bucking" and has loss of power.
I put the code scanner on it and I get code 998 "hard fault present" then code 224 "Erratic Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) input to processor. The code scanner book decribes it as.... (DIS) problem- Primary circuit failer in Coil #1,2,3,4.
I checked the coils, I seen some cracks so I just replaced both of them. I reset the brain according to to my scanner manual. I disconnected the battery also for about 1 minute. Started the car up after just 15 or so seconds the check engine light came on. So I ran another code scan and the same thing comes up. 998 and 224. Any ideas what might be wrong? I hope I didn't just throw $100 bucks away. Thanks for any info.................
