Hey there. I pulled the car for codes today and it gave me code 67. By the way, this was the Key on Engine off test (KOEO). So according to the book it could be any of the following:
- Neutral Pressure Switch (NPS) circuit failure, circuit open. (3.0L MAP, 3.0L MAF-SFI, 3.8L SFI)
I'm assuming that this code is only valid if it is a 3.0L or 3.8L engine though.
- Neutral Drive Switch (NDS) circuit failure, circuit open; or A/C input high.
I don't have the A/C option on my car anyhow.
- Manual Lever Position (MLP) sensor out of range; or A/C input high. (4.9L MAP, 5.8L MAP)
Again, I don't have A/C and it isn't the right engine code.
So my questions are, what is a Neutral Pressure Switch? Neutral Drive Switch? and a Manual Lever Position? And what are the symptoms when these things go bad?
The car is an 88 5 speed manual.
I'd appreciate any help.
