well I need to advance my odometer and move my car in order for them not to tow it away. so I'm thinking I can take off the speedo cable and attach a drill to it and drill it foward. I'm thinking this should work to advance it. other than that I'm gonna wash it and move it.

ummm any ideas???

I have a feeling you'll burn up a couple drills before you get any real mileage built up like that. As mentioned, if you pull the dash apart there is a pin you can push out and adjust the #'s.

i would tell them to go F themselfs and remind them that in america people have the freedom to own vehicles that dont run, and our forefathers faught against "the man" to insure americans can put whatever kind of worthless S*** on their own property that they want to. BUT I would think as long as the plate is current they cant mess with you.

well guess what, the city can go f them selves cuz I went out to the stang today, actually looked for the oil leak that dropped my oil like no tomorrow... my oil filter had fallen apart, the part that actualy screws in from the body of the filter! I took it all off went to autozone bought oil, CD-2, and a oil filter, put it all on the car and to my wonderful suprise...

the stang is back
... now I just need a L-series computer to make it run right.

agreed, but here in solcialist ...err southern california, code is pretty strict in housing tracks and small property areas, at my house we have 3 or 4 dead cars, without trouble(aka da ghetto). Most of the time code enforcement bites, but on my street they have evicted a couple of dealers and crack houses becuase of it, so im 50/50 with that specific rule. I could live without the TEST only , visual and emissionings testing Every Year though!

you couldve just taken the speedo cable from the back of the tranny, and tightened the chuck onto the nub of the gear and sat there for like 15 minutes and let it run. at least you moved it like 2-3 miles.

Im attempting to remember, weren't you the one who wanted to sell your busted "project" stang becuase you couldnt afford to fix it? Man, if thats true....you must be broke, cant afford an oil filter and 4 quarts! I would be a happy guy to pick that stang off of you for cheap...with its problem being an oil filter! hehehehe

Edit, found it!..

hey hey patty! it's not a total loss, it is for me but for the person who picks this up it's not a loss, it needs a new computer, and I haven't done anything to it since it broke down, for all I know I could just tighten up where ever the oil dropped from and add mroe oil and poof it runs.

lol well I was really frustrated at the time, had no money cuz I dunno about other people in socal but it's damn hard to find a job, was having family issues and needed transportation cuz taking the bus sucks the big one. but sorry it's not for sale at 400 anymore, 400 was for a 2.3T stang with a non running motor... that $15 trip to autozone made me want to keep it and if I wanted to sell it I would be looking for atleast $800 (maybe trade for another car)... even then I'd have to think about it

dood, i was seriously interested in buying the car... if i bought it from you and checked it out and it was just an oil filter issue, I wouldve sold that thing back to you for the same ammount. that wouldve been ghay as hell. glad you finally got it fixed. i understand how you just didnt want to deal with it. when it rains, it pours.

Maybe it's time to move someplace where there's job's and people don't drag your car away 'cause the odometer hasn't moved?

I live where most people would call "the Country" in a little 350 person town and we must have registration on every car which is not in a garage or shed. The primary instigator of this regulation lives in a crappy looking trailer home with a bunch of cheap looking cement figures sitting around the flower beds. One man's trash is another's treasure.

well I just recently moved out my moms house so thats a start. funny thing is my neighbor who called about my stang has a benz parked that hasn't moved since before my car and is still in the same spot... she knows someone in the city cuz the same city worker comes by everytime and we've been harassed by another city worker that wasn't even code complaince, he lives down the street and is friends with our neighbor. my neighbors house looks like **** and I've seen her weed plants in her windows so my stepdad is having alittle war with her, he is gonna go to the city and comlpain about the worker who harrassed us and he called narcotics, and is letting her build a brick wall, only so he can tear it down cuz she has it partly on our side lol.

point is I HAVE A RUNNING STANG!

Interesting neighborhood, but at least you have a running stang. Now take the mufflers off and drive it up and down the street at 4am everyday so the odo will make them happy.
