Code 212 means Ignition module circut failure/SPOUT circuit grounded so...
I would start with a diagnosis of the Ignition Module system.
Check the power to the ignition module with a voltmeter by probing the
red/light green wire(termial 4). With engine on, NOT running, you should have battery voltage.
Check the PIP signal from the stator(Hall Effect device) in distributor to ignition module. Probe the dark green wire(terminal 1) on the ignition control module with an LED test light. Crank the engine, to confirm the test light flashes. If it doesn't, check the distributor.
Probe the red/light green wire (terminal 4) again, with the LED test light while engine is on, NOT running. Battery voltage should be present, but if no flashes then replace stator. If it does flash, there is response from the distributor to the stator.
Check the SPOUT signal from the ignition module by probing the pink wire (terminal 2) with the test light. Crank engine and observe flashes.
Check the ignition module ground by unplugging the harness. Install one probe of the OHM meter the negative battery terminal, and probe the black/light blue wire(terminal 6). There should be less than 5.0 ohms resistance. If more then 5.0 ohms, repair the ground or the Hall Effect switch in the distributor.
If battery voltage is not reaching the module, trace the circuit and check for damage. If all that checks out, you may have to repalce the Ignition Module.
