Well, we just destroyed one of my stock front shocks trying to get the stinking coil sleeve over the shock. (gas came out ) There is a lip there it it wont go ever it...not even close. So I thought it was the "gold cap" the instructions was talking about (no gold cap BTW). So do after market shocks not have this lip? Or do we have to grind it off or what? It will NOT beat off either as its tach welded. The hole tubular K is under the car, but this part is killing us.

Oh and I have to buy some shocks now, so what should I go with? 2004 GT with alot of N/A mods(cams, LTs ECT)...its my 100% DD, and I am not a "twisties" guy, staright line for me. Just want it to still handle good and not be all over the place lol. Maybe about as good as stock, but something thats good for the track too. the front coilover springs are 14.5 X 175#. Its the PA kit here on MD. Thanks guys, I really need some help here.

I was wanting it to be ready for a date I have this saturday night but... now . Oh well, ill just have to take my dads 00 stang (V6).

BTW PICS OF A COILOVER SETUP WOULD BE GREAT SO WE CAN FULLY SEE HOW EVERYTHING GOES.

Most coilover kits i know of have to be made for a specific strut/shock, does your PA kit say it's usable for stock applicastions?

Soooo, lemme see if I got this straight... You spent $1000+ on coilover kit and now you are trying to jam the crappy worthless stock struts into it?

Nope...Looked around on stangsuspension (thanks) and it appears that the koni yellows are the only ones that will fit. The tokoco drags are VERY close too...but im not sure. This just makes me mad, we had to do quite about of modifiying with the K(motor mounts wouldnt fit...not even close) and windage trey(cut some things out of the pan and braise it back up)...now this, its just a pain.

they may come without the lip if you specify. i know the strange ones don't have the lip. but, the front end i setup for my neighbor; he had lakewoods, & i still had to grind his off too. also, be VERY careful with the grinder & to not knick the upper, shiney part of the strut. that's bad, trust me on this one

Alright, cool. Thanks for all the help man, and I guess 1.5 is what I want then. Hopefully 1/2 a coil will do the trick.
