Coils, wire's and ignitions oh my.

the pertronix setup is good, your mallory is probibly on par with it, BUT...is this a driver, or a concours show car that you want to keep stock appearing? the reason i ask, is i have the late model duraspark ignition on my 351 w, and i really like it. with the tfi coil, the output is awesome, and if you have a problem, parts are as close as your nearest auto parts store.to do a conversion, you need the distributor, module, coil, and a couple boneyard plugs. if interested, i can email you a link to the website i used for the wiring, and parts list.

Are you having any problems with your present set-up?

Most aftermarket ignition components really benefit cars that are heavily modified. I have a feeling your system is fine just the way it is.

The Pertronix is good and their Flame Thrower coil 40,000/45,000volts is the same price ($35) as a regular coil. They also offer a set of black life time wires for their set up. I have their distributor, coil and wires and it performs great on a slightly warmed up 289. I have my plug gap set at .45 because of the higher voltage coil.
