Yesterday, I took a Mass Air from a 96 GT (80mm) and switched the bodies with my stock mass air meter. So I have the factory mass air, its just in a bigger body. And also I got a densecharger cold air to hook up to the 96 GT Mass air. But now my car is running like crap. It seems to be running really rich. I reset the computer and let it run for a while last night. It was running really well when I shut it off last night, but this morning I started it and it was sputtering and not really wanting to run too well. Could the greater volume of air be setting off my Mass air meter? Please help, I want to know soon if I have to put all the stock stuff back on.
Thanks,
Jesse

You can't just switch bodies for the MAF, the electronics have to be recalibrated. A 96GT meter and electronics will not work on your 89.... If you want a 80mm meter you need to go to Pro-M.

IMO, the 80mm meter is way to big for your motor combo, and may hurt performance since the air will be lazy.

Use a 94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 58 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. You need a $25-$35 flange adapter from Pro-M to fit the stock air ducting. Wiring plugs right in with no changes. Since it's a 5.0, the MAF sensor is close enough to work with no problems.
