I put my MAC cold air on last night and I started it this morning and I love it. I thought I wouldnt be able to hear it over my off-road H. Boy was I wrong. I can even hear it sucking more air in at idle. It sounds real nice when you get on it too. All I hear is this whooshing under the hood on the passenger side, and my loud azz H-pipe resonating when I goose the throttle. For those of you who say it doesnt do anything or add that much horse, I dont care. If I can hear it, I know its working. IMO well worth the 189 dollars. Oh ya, I almost forgot, a lot better throttle response too. Get rid of that rubber hose accordian thinggy. Hella restrictive.

You should try the "darkwolf" mod that I did on my Mac CAI....since the intake has a 90 degree bend on it, your engine will run richer than it is suppose to because of the way the sensor is positioned. By rotating the MAF 90 degrees toward the fender-well, you WILL DEFINETLY FEEL an increase in POWER!!! Think your happy now; give that a try and you will be even happier!!

Cool, I think I'll be in the market for an intake soon. The Prochamber needs more flow I think! Let us know if inverting the pipe can be noticed by the S.O.T.P meter.

Enjoy!

I had the MAC cold air, with the rotated MAF too.

It sucked. Any gains are because of: 1. The K&N style filter over the paper one. 2. Your SOTP meter is undergoing a placebo effect because you put a new part on your car.

That being said, I ripped mine out and went back to stock. Paper filter, silencer, the whole deal. Can't tell a damn difference. Waste of $$$......at least the new upper plenums gain a couple HP, that's what I would do instead of the crap air intake.

I just popped on an open-element filter in place of my airbox and silencer--I noticed a small torque increase and better throttle response. Has anybody dynoed a mod like this? I would never invest in a CAI when I have built several, but most have been noticeable improvements.

In a word: yes.

Supercharger = teh ultimate cold air.

Don't waste your time, take that $150 and put it into the supercharger fund.

Hey jon,how did the mac/dr gas setup sound,like the flow/dr gas?Considering your set-up on mt 99 gt,instead of mac/prochmbr.

The MAC setup with Dr. Gas is very similiar to the flows; just a tad louder. It is more of a hollow raspy sound, and it compliments the X very well. Overall the sound is very smooth and racy. The flows are a bit deeper and quieter.

I've put cold air kits on both of my Stangs with mixed results. It made a big difference on my 95 GT that I could both hear and feel. I noticed a slight difference in sound and NO difference in performance on my 96 Cobra. Looked at trying the "darkwolf" MAF rotate, but the holes don't line up.

Weird. Seems like everyone has their own opinion, which is why I was kinda reluctant to posting this. I knew there were gonna be people who agreed and disagreed with me. I guess it just depends on the car, cause no 2 cars are the exact same from the factory, and I guess it also depends on mods. What I like with this setup is how my off road H gives me low end torque and the cold air gives me more high end pull. And regarding the darkwolf mod, the holes DO NOT line up. My cold air is complete to the fenderwell all the way up to the TB. so I dont know how I would turn it 90*. Anymore info on this would be appreciated.
