I WAS CURIOUS IF ANYONE KNEW HOW MUCH MORE HORSEPOWER WOULD THE C&L MASS AIR KIT ACTUALLY GIVE OVER A COLD AIR KIT LIKE A K&N OR BBK. IS IT ALOT BETTER BECAUSE I KNOW IT IS ALOT MORE EXPENSIVE?

I am very familiar with this mod as I had one on my car. It can be very effective and I have seen dynos showing as much as 23 hp from one. BUT, they work by leaning the car out, which is not good. If you buy one, you really should consider a dyno tune to prevent the lean condition from being too much. Also, if you plan on adding a power adder later like a blower or nitrous, don't waste your time with it at all.

I sold mine and went with a Steeda CAI due to problems with the lean condition from the C&L.

no one is getting 20hp from a c&l maf kit on a mustang. there is no point to buy one and then tune the car, you can just tune the car with the stock maf. That's just stupid. Like I said just buy a drop in, there are better gains with other boltons, your airbox/maf are not hindering power right now.

SO THEN WHAT IS THE BEST CAI TO GET.
turn yer damn caps off cali boy...

best and most popular CAI is the K&N FIPK2. its a plastic (less conductive of heat) and has a heat-surround by the filter. supposably it yields the most gains.

i personally dont see the need to spend 180-250 dollars for 10 hp.. i have an ebay metal tube (just like MAC and BBK) for 24 bucks attached to my stock filter housing with no silencer. the less bends, the better. i have better throttle response over the stock tube, but you're not gonna gain much anyway.
