i need your guys opinion on cam choice. my 302 is out right now gettin gbuilt to 306with forged pistons and everything and im gettin the pistons notched.
the question is what cam should i go with im goin to be using GT-40p heads with the bigger 1.94,1.54 valves and .600 lift springs, explorer intake.

if anyone can let me know ASAP if woul dbe nice cause my engine isnt goin to get put back together til i get cam.

thanx,
shawn

Have the heads been ported? Unless they have been fully ported, I wouldn't run anything over a .500 lift cam. From seeing dyno numbers and track times, the P heads seem to do best with something with a lift of a B cam, but with a split duration of about 218/224 @ 0.050" lift. There is only a 5 or 6 cfm difference in flow of the P heads between .400" and .500" lift, so a big lift cam will do nothing for you.
