If you opt for the wireless stuff it will be 802.11g/b (don't remember which or both), or you can use the wired setup and just connect it up with your pre-existing wireless router or whatever you use. The 'modem' is propriatary right now, but has standard ports so you can plug anything into it and build off of it.
As for the video -- again, can't say too much, but this is all related. Running fiber directly into the home (which is why you can get FiOS) will allow Verizon to offer video service. We are getting a really nice lineup of channels and offerings where what you'll see is comporable to satellite and digital cable setups, but with much better channels, software, speed, more HD stuff, more features. A lot of great stuff. Naturally, I believe it will be a good costs savings over the competitors similar products. That's a little farther in the future and I can't say more about that.
Your phone will also come through the same fiber line as well. I don't have as much info on those packages, but they will be again very competitive and designed to fend off other companies like Vonage, etc. by offering more services and better rates.
I work with the software that is involved in bringing it all together for this whole thing. I see preview copies of a lot of different services, so I know what's coming well before it hits the market. It's really getting exciting now for me! Everyone's going to love this stuff when it gets out there!
