To anybody with the comp cam 262, do you have a video of your idle. Im in the middle of tryin to decide which cam to buy and am going to do so pretty soon. Hotmustang has been helping me out a bit and said vt stg 1's and his car sounds great, but if anyone has a 262 video at idle and such that would be helpful. Thanks

hate to hijack my own thread but.. i just ordered vt stage 1's! im real excited about the new cams, and also that they were 10% off directly from vt's site! they had only 1 pair left too. anyways, back to this thread.. if u could still get the vid's for the heck of it that would be real cool to hear. tonight ill be plowing through sites fourms and the search thing finding tips and install guides to help me through as im real paranoid about messing something up. any tips and all the vids are appreciated! thanks stangnet. btw, 01 your car must set off alot of alarms and maybe break some windows too.. good stuff

definitely pick your cams based on how they make your car sound...

anyway good luck with your install, there are plenty of guides out there (Modular Depot has a good one)

comparing hotstangs vid to slows it seems like the vt's have a bit more lope. is that true? anyways, im glad i got the vt's and everybody loves them just like the comp's, seems like either way you cant go wrong.

Cams aside, that is a common combo exhaust wise, but your car just sounds insane IMO, I love it!

In reference to the comment about picking your cams based on how they sound, well for some that is a huge added benefit, to myself included. I like the lopey idle, but thats just me. I plan on going with a more wild cam anyway, so everything just works out.

yeah I am extremely happy with the sound. Although a cam swap is in the neart future. after tuning we beilive I need to go with a lower overlap for the blower. it was first thought the overlap would help due to my compression, but it is just to much.... prolly gonna look into some VT stage 1's

don't get me wrong, I love the lope of a cammed V8... but it seems that the first question a lot of people ask in reference to a particular cam grind/profile, whatever, is "how does it sound" rather than "how will it affect my power output". You don't spend $500 in parts plus labor just for a lopey idle, at least I wouldn't
