so the supercharger ready 306 efi.... complete engine from dss...
what kind of hp might you expect?

SPECS:
Shortblock: Pro Bullet 306 w/ MSS
Heads: Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Highlift
Camshaft: Anderson B41
Rockers: DSS Aluminum Roller Rockers
Oil pan: DSS 7qt w/ power adder oil return
Oil pump: DSS high volume w/ adjustable bypass
Windage tray: DSS aluminum Pro-Tray
Balancer: Romac SFI approved steel
Flywheel: Fidanza SFI billet steel
Water Pump: DSS/Engine Works high flow
Distributor: MSD Pro Billet
Intake: Trick Flow Track Heat
Valve Covers: DSS short valve covers

You said it is supercharger ready, but are you going to put a supercharger on it now?

I am sorta curious as well, I am going for the same setup except AFR's and 10lbs of boost

without boost i say you are at 295-300 rwhp. 340ish tq. with 8-10 lbs youll be flying at 430+ rwhp. my guesstimate...

Isn't the DSS block a stock block?

dunno... i was just wanting to know how much better this crate setup is over the ford racing 5.0 crate is... fordracing says 345hp... and its like half the cost... so what's the deal?

cast pistons, and rods, and I believe it has a cast crank. But the problem is if you arent going to go with a dart block or something of the like, both of those engines will die around 500hp, and crack the block.

if you dont get 350 with a blower than somethings wrong

Those are not cast pistons and rods in that motor do your homework the pro bullet has all the upgrades all good balanced parts! The ford crate is the cheap S...!

alright cool cool... so for me, wanting 300-350hp n/a... worth the extra 3k to go with the dss over the ford crate?

That Ford crate motor will not give 350 rwhp. That number is based on flywheel horsepower. With the setup you listed you should be making between 310-320rwhp.

go with dss I bought my short block from them and couldn't be happier.
