New to the site and real impressed with the search capabilities and forums.
I'm in the middle of an engine swap of my 1994 Cobra. I have a .30 over 302 (1987 Truck)with Federal Mogul H654P30 hypereutectic pistons .30 dish from Summit Racing (stl654p30) using my 60cc stock GT-40 Irons. Summit tech said I should have approximately 9.00 to 1 cr. Does that sound right with typical deck height, with the piston.10 below. I was hoping for 9.50 to 1. I bought the shortblock from a friend who was had it built by a local machine shop and ran out of money for his project. Otherwise the pistons with such a large dish would not have been my choice. Need to know if I need the heads milled to stay above 9.00 to 1.
My combo will be the stock GT-40 Irons, 1.7 RR, Crane 2031 or B-cam, ported upper and lower cobra intake, stock tb and 80 mm mass air with stock 24lb injectors. Car has run 14.20's with 3.73's and I dont want to go backwards with this combo.
Any help/input on combo appreciated. I tried searching for similar piston combos prior to submission of this thread.
