compression union

any1 ever use a compression union on a brake line? Do they work? relieable?

Yes, last week in fact. I know they don't look like they work, but they do.

You need the correct size first, 3/16 first. Be sure to use the tubing cutter for a clean unpinched cut. Put on the ends, then the little <> shaped compression fittings, screw in the middle being sure the lines stay all the way in.

As a motor vehicle inspector, if I saw a compression fitting on a brake line, I'd fail it for sure! Stop and figure the pressure applied inside that line. If the fitting is not properly tightend ( and sometimes even if it is) the pressure can blow that brass right apart. No. Unsafe at any speed! Why do you think they are required to be DOUBLE flared STEEL lines and not copper or plastic? Sorry. My opinion only.

Im with JB66 on that one, serious pressure in those lines.
