Hi

My 2000 GT started misfiring out of nowhere.
I changed my battery last night and it ran fine last night and this morning.
But when I was leaving work the "Service Engine Soon" light started blinking. The car is shaking and it's running weird.

I think I read somewhere one time that you could access error codes from the computer in the display that shows the mileage (in the ones with digital display).

Does anyone know how to do this?
Would this be the same as using a scanner?

Thanks a Bunch!

on mine, just hold trip reset in, and turn key to on. it will pop up on mileage indicator. press trip button to cycle through them.

my car kinda did the same thing when i installed new batt. (it was fine at speed, but would shake on takeoff) i just took cables back off to reset cpu & put it back on in a bit. started the car, let it idle for a few min before i drove it & has been fine ever since. worth a shot.

btw, make sure u didn't accidently knock off any vac. hoses or anything too.

Cool.
I tried what you recommended and it's working fine now.
Don't know why, but disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seems to have done the trick. Something must have gotten out of whack in the computer.

I'll have to keep an eye on it to see if it comes back, but Thanks again

Well, the Check engine light came back on after all.

I took my car to AutoZone and they hooked up a scanner to it.
Cylinder #5 is misfiring.

I figure I'm gonna check the sparkplug and while at it was thinking of replacing the sparkplug wires.

But, my car has the Coil-On-Plug (COP) wires. Are you supposed to replace these like the normal ones? AutoZone does not stock them, and I can't find them on the web either.

How do you deal with these COP setup?

Thanks
