I got a 2001 6cyl and don't even know whether it's OHC or not? I've heard its "OHV" overhead valve does that mean it is OHC? And the valvetrain is non-adjustable correct? Could someone explain the engine design to clarify it for me?
You've got overhead valves, but it's a good old-fashioned pushrod engine, so your cam is in the center of the engine. OHC means Overhead Cam, which means the cam is right next to the valves in the head, not in the block. The pushrods ride alongside the cylinders, and transmit the opening and closing forces from the cam to the valves.
