Whats up guys, i need some help on the direction i take with my car this winter. its been over two years since the car was running consistantly and i honestly just want to enjoy it again. i threw in a explorer motor this past summer with an ed c. bump stick with a single turbo. now the thing made zero boost but before i could solve that it lost oil pressure and has sat since. so i'm wondering keep it turbo ? Run na with only the explorer motor and juice?

Or sell the turbo stuff and do a hci upgrade and just be happy with that? i love the unique factor of the turbo and i don't want to give up before i even get the thing finished, but i also don't want to have another frustrating year lookin at the car sit in one spot broken. what do ya think?

Ha ben you're quick. i'm bored at work on my cell phone so i'm slow with typing. thats the direction i'm leanin towards, but i guess frustrations have me lookin elsewhere... since i'm back in school i don't have time to wrench on it now, so its nothin but a lot of thinking lol

the grass is always greener.....

if i were starting with a fresh unmodded car like i did 3 years ago, the first thing i would have done is a single turbo.

i like my hci, but i would rather have a nice set of alum y303 heads, stock cam, cobra intake(TMOSS ported lower of course) and a nice single turbo.

if you do hci and no turbo you will have to spray to keep up with all the iron rolling out from the factory these days.

bottom line is keep focused on your goal, if your goal is to drive and have fun with minimal amount of work then do a mild hci and have fun. if your goal is to fry tires at will then the turbo will do.

A decently built explorer motor with a nasty shot of the gas should do the trick for you, but you'll end up wanting more in the future

Good to see you around man, don't see you too often these days

Keep the turbo... but figure out your oil problem and all that stuff first. Even though the only NA motor I know is my Dad's, I would still rather boost a stock longblock first than build up a H/C/I combo.

Thanks for the input guys. now for the oil pressure problem, what all mechanically can cause it? i heard about oil galley plugs but i'm not positive on where those are at, haven't paid attention to them. tryin to get a list of possibilities for when i take it apart.

Turbos scare me. I am well on my way to being done with mine and even if it all works great at first who knows what will happen in the future. Turbo cars seem to always have some sort of problem. Rio95's car has ran great for the most part all season since the turbo install, but just recently its feeling really slow for some reason. He has gone over everything in the book to figure out why and its still a mystery and thats coming from a car that has ran wonderful trapping 126 all year. He even threw out the idea of selling it all and going all motor with a 408. Idk, I'm crossing my fingers with mine.

Tell us about your kit and post some pics.
