So as some of you know my T45 needed some new synchros a awhile back and so I brought the trans in and had it fully rebuilt by a very reputable shop. The only thing we saved were the gears and the shafts.
Anyway I have been having some issues with the trans, it has 3500 miles on it and still under warranty. Took it to the shop and of course it never acted up, but they told me to keep driving it which might revel the issue and if anything comes up they will fix it.
Just looking for some other points of view on the issue.
The transmission tends to grind in 3rd gear (audibly) or when I am shifting, I "feel" and use quotes for a reason, as if the synchro is working harder then it has too. Its not smooth, I get a vibration up through the entire shifter. Every other gear seems to be fine. The clutch is fine and is fully disengaging. Whats so odd about this problem is how often it occurs. I drove the car for 400 miles and don't get this grind and then the next day drive it 2 miles to a buddies and it grinds 3 times. In total it has done this about 10 to 15 times since it was rebuilt. Its incredibly random, and mostly occurs at low rpm shifts, about 2000 rpms, high rpm ie 5000+ rpm its fine. I have even tried to short shift to make it grind and it doesn't do it.
Lastly, I promise you its not driver error.
Any thoughts? Sorry for the long post.
