cons of retro fit lifters and non-roller block

I'm trying to build a 393 for my 95 GT and I'm having a hard time finding a roller block for a foundation and I don't want to spend 1200 dollars for a sportsman. I want to run hydraulic cam so what are the disadvantages of going the non-roller block and use retro lifters.

Cost. Using retro rollers will double your cost of using a roller cam. The retro rollers have to use a link-bar setup to keep them from rotating, increasing the cost.
