Ok so here is the scenario: At the local Ford Dealership they have a Burgundy 06 Premium Mustang GT Auto with the black racing stripes. It has black bullitts on it, and an aftermarket chin spoiler. Maybe even an aftermarket rear spoiler on it... This car is "Brand New" and all the aftermarket equipment was installed by the dealership. Now here is where it gets interesting, apparently the car was stolen off the lot and later recovered like 150 miles away after two days. The dealership claims that there was Zero damage, but they still have to disclose that the car was stolen when they sell it. Now I dont know how the law reads but I thought that if a car was stolen it received a salvaged title, however they are saying that it has a clean title. Before the theft the car had a sticker price of $30,465 however the salesman told me today that they are "Really motivated to move it off the lot" and said that I could probably pick it up for right around 25K. I am thinking that I could probably get them to go lower? I really dont care for the new Mustangs at all, but it sure would be nice to have a factory warranty new car if the price was right. Any input on this scenario would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the long post and thanks again :SNSign:

My input on this is yes, it's nice to have a new car and warranty and all, but make sure you take it out and drive it a little. Not for a little 5 minute test-drive. I loved my husband's 06 til I drove it a few times. I just don't enjoy driving it as much as my car. Has a whole different feel to it...

Found 150 miles away?

How much damage could they have done in that distance? I'm sure the car is fine but I would drive it a bit just to be sure...

I drove an '05 when they first came out. The only thing I remember is that the top of the door panel (where I usually rest my arm) was a bit high.. perhaps I didn't adjust the seat... oh well.. I could be wrong..

Otherwise, despite some opinions I've seen here, I really like the new body style... :nice:

Since the car was stolen, and possibly taken on one heck of a joy ride, maybe you can demand they give you the extended service plan???   It's worth a shot...

Good luck- and if you do buy the car, post pictures! :D

The dealer said no damage? I'm curious if the car was stolen with a set of keys as well then. If not I would think that the steering column and/or wiring to the dash be hacked with. I'm pretty sure the 06 (like my 00) has the computer chip in the key which you need to have match in order to even start the car.

So....are they still offering a full factory warranty on it? Would this car still be technically new and qualify for lemon law. If so, anything that is wrong, you're probably covered, just might be a hassle. If they're willing to offer 25k...then they'll come down more. I've never, never heard of a dealer presenting a bottom line offer, especially right up front. There is always something more they will do if they're motivated.
