my kids are old enough (16 and 14) that if they bump their heads on the bar, it is their own fault. if you decide to upgrade to the 6 point one, let me know and i'll most likely be happy to take your 4 point one off your hands for ya

now get off the computer and get those pics!

I have always wondered if we are allowed to put swings on the roll bar so the kids can have fun while riding down the road! Does ANYONE know if they make a styling "cover" for these rollbars? The styling bars look really nice...

Thats actually a really good idea...

I dont see why a plastic cover cant be made that snaps ontop of the bars with a built in 3rd brake light.

But then again, design is probably easy, production is hard.

We need to find a company to make that and saleen tail light bezels again...

I read the links on several styling bars since this thread and found out on many of them there IS actually 1 1/4" tubing within the "style" part of the bar. But you wonder why they don't just extend the pole into the floor area like a regular roll bar. That would be great! Maybe they thought it would sell better with easy installation?

There still wouldn't be any lateral support. Even if you welded it, the fact that it's only attached to two spots on floor wouldn't be enough stability in a rollover, especially if the car slides straight forwards or backwards.

As for looks, they look great. If my car didn't have one, it's just be another beater '95 GT. But with the bar it turns a lot of heads.

The bar is just a PITA to take out and re-install for repairs. I had to replace both rear window motors after I bought the car. Not having to deal with the bar would have made things MUCH easier.
Now one of my rear speakers sounds slightly blown. I just have the radio faded a little towards the front so I don't have to deal with replacing it and taking the bar out.

True 66'. Would it be acceptable to weld 2 poles lower to make it a 4 point? I mean, I guess you could weld it lower on the stylebar so you couldn't see it..but not sure about stability... or they might be able to make a four point and just attach a style piece to it. Just some ideas..

You also got to think about what material that 1 1/4" tube is (material and wall thickness)... My roll bar was Heavy...
