Just wanted to ask what preventive convertible top maintenance should I look at doing. I just put WD-40 on the Latches of my 93LX vert and was amazed how mush easier they now lock. When I put the top back in place I find that the drivers side always lines up well but the passengers side needs a little extra motor to get the pin close. It not a lot but i always worry that I'm using the motor for that as opposed to just bring it up and over. Thanks

i have a problem with my passenger side as well, I just chalk it up as too much hard driving/fishtailing without the proper frame reinforcements. As far as maintenance with the top all that i have been told was to keep it clean a not to put it down if its under 70 (shrinkage) or if the tops wet (mold). I found a top dressing and protectant at one of the parts stores a few years ago, gave the top a little bit of sheen but didnt wash off and leave a oily film over the car. I do need to replace the clips that the hooks go into, the g/f dug into one last night with the hook.
I cant comment on how to maintain the mech. parts though, i got sick of having to refill and reprime my motor every summer so last year i pulled the pins out of the rams and work it manualy. One day ill fix it, i have an extra motor but i think that the line and rams need work and thats more money than i want to put into it now.

She is garage art except on nice days. Although I seem to leave the top down a lot and just put in the garage.

never leave the top down for extended periods like that. the top will shrink to conform to the new shape and when you raise it it will stretch and start to tear. always put the top up when you are not driving.
