For those with verts - when you put the top up, does it come up even? Or, does one side come up first, then the other? On mine, the passenger side comes up about a foot or two, then the drivers side. It just strikes me as odd. I don't remember mine doing this as much when I first got it. Just wondering. Thanks for any feedback.

My girlfriends 03 Vert does the same thing. It actually slowed down a bit too. We had it checked at the dealer and apparently the uneven lifting is common, but the speed problem is not. They adjusted something on the convertible mechanism, and it was back to normal.

Mine does the same thing. :bang: I didn't think there was anything wrong with the way it was operating, being this is the first (And Last :nonono: ) convertible I ever owned.

That's 1 more thing to have fixed when I take it in for the tranny TSB and front a end alignment. :notnice:

Mine goes up evenly ....

Mine too. Though, it stops about 2" or 3" short of the windshield header. I have to pull (yank) it those final inches.

I hesitate to bring it in to be "fixed". Right now, my top doesn't leak a drop even in the heaviest hurricane rain. I am worried that if they try to adjust it, it will start to leak as I have read is common with many other people's convertibles.

Why the last? I love my 'Vert.

Have two Mustang verts. The tops are supposed to go up and down evenly. The old one ('86) goes up and down evenly, but leaks at the header pretty bad during a heavy rain (either adjustment or seals), and makes a lot of wind noise from around the driver's window (probably a leak there too). The new one ('01 Cobra) used to go up and down unevenly, but there was a TSB on it so the dealer fixed it. Works fine now, and doesn't leak a drop - no wind noise either. However, when it goes down it seems to "thump" at full down as if it hits stops or something. May have that looked at.

i don't think i have the same problem, but i do have to pull the middle handle on the top to bring it down the last 2 inches to latch it.

1 reason is I don't put the top down that much, but that was mainly due to the fact that this summer wasn't exactly the greatest here in Michigan for convertible owners.

The MAIN reason I won't buy another vert is because I don't want to have to put a roll cage in so I can run on the track because I'm going faster than the NHRA allows.

I'm debating if I'll install a S/C on the one I've got now or not because I don't want to put a cage in. I'm thinking of just selling my GT in the spring and picking up a used or left over 04 MACH1.
