Hey guys,
Can anyone post a picture of the proper location of the stock heater core coolant hose that runs to the rad on the passenger side of the engine?
I have aftermarket headers and the hose leans on the header. The hose appears to be OEM Motorcraft hoses in their original locations.
I was wondering if theres a particular trick to suspend it above w/o resorting to something stupid like zip ties, what do you guys do?

Thanks.

Are you talking about the hoses for the emissions system???

If so, loosen the clamps and clock the hoses the way you want them, if you dont have cats get rid of them.

The hose actually appears to be part of the EVAP system, it runs underneath the MAF along the header and into the air pump. It does not appear I can adjust the location by the clamps, as the hoses connect to metal piping by the firewall. The wrinkled elbow section of the hose is where it's getting cooked.
Here's a pic:

Any help guys?
Thanks.

After further inspection, I took a look at where those metal pipes met the exhaust and found this:

No wonder my car was running so crappy, the pipe broke off from the exhaust. And I thought I had put my rotor and cap in wrong.
On another note, the ATF line to the trans cooler also runs right along side the headers cooking the ATF, the foam heat shield shrouding it was found to be burnt off.
Are there any replacement air hoses that will solve my problem. The inspections here require me to leave my cats on.

Now I see why you're headers are cooking everything, you have equal length headers, lol. You might have to come up with something to give you some clearance. (zip ties?)

The hoses you're talking about are for the thermactor system not the evap, and the atf cooler lines are bolted to the side of the block and they dont have sheilding. I think you're talking about the a/c line that run along the frame, right?

Hey Liquid. Took a look again and it appears the ATF cooler is on the drivers side of the radiator. Back to these hoses, even if i were to use zip ties, there does not seem to be much slack to prop them up further as they are attached to the metal tubes that run out under the car.
What do you guys with aftermarket headers do?

Yeah the ATF cooler goes from the drivers side of the radiator and snakes around the pass. side of the block and to the trans.

About the hoses because thats a good question, most people dont like running the equal length headers like you have, because clearance issues and they can burn up the plug wires easy, and it looks like its hard to change the plugs too. A couple of ideas; if you could get a "L" shaped heater hose to replace the hook shaped hose at the bottom, or move that valve foward to the first valve with some straight heater hose away from over the header.

Or if you want it to look right and you need emissons stuff, get a set of regular 1 5/8 shorty headers and sell the ones you have.

btw: I dont see the vaccum hose on the valve in the pic.

Thanks for the reply man. The vaccum hose is on top of the valve block from view by the intake.
