Hello Gents,

Just had the transmission completely rebuilt and car is coming along pretty well. When I got home from my 10 mile journey and parked, I smelled coolant. Upon inspection, noticed the coolant level really high and what appears to be leaking around the radiator cap at some point. The car is cool now, about 3 hours and the coolant has not retreated back........ The reading has always been somewhat off: COLD reading at COLD temp and COLD reading at HOT temp. Anyone else have these symptoms before? Any advice helps.

Thanks!

Done. New cap. Let car warm up and the coolant level raised, and darkened in color.

Good news, I think I know where the oil has gone. Head gasket? Block?

What is your oil pressure like? Remember oil pressure is 30-50 while coolant is 16. your oil is being pushed into your coolant Do you have any oil pressure and does it drop when you rev the motor or put a load on it.
Did you drain the oil? Any water in the oil at all.

Time for a leak down test - my guess is it's a blown HG or a cracked block/head/ oil passage by a coolant hole.
