Hey guys, in the midst of my turbo build I am upgrading my cooling system with a new water pump, radiator, and cooling fan. I am for sure going with a Griffin from Summit which is only like $190 then for the water pump I think I am just going with a new stock one. I am pretty set on those to things, but my main question lies with what cooling fan to go with. Right now I am thinking of going with this one:

I guess what I am looking for is any info you guys can give me about this stuff. Is 14 inch going to fit or could I even go up to a 16 inch? Also, do I need to buy this as well:

Or is there other supporting hardware I need? There is a bunch of "suggested parts" to buy on the fan link page.

Any help and info would be great.

Also, I toyed with the idea of getting a Meziere water pump, but unless you guys are gonna tell me they are amazing and 100% worth the 400 bucks, I'm just gonna go stock again.

Thanks for the help guys!!!!

I tend to like OEM fans myself. For an upgrade, I would go for a Viper fan if it were me. And if desiring aftermarket fan control, it would be via a Dc Controller, hands down, no questions asked. A PWM controller makes relays and switches look like caveman drawings compared to CAD design.

However, you can likely get away without a controller and simply use the stock EEC to control a new fan.

I hate it when folks don't offer assistance with the specific products I asked about. I would have but haven't used anything you linked to. I did want to suggest the OEM fan route in case it was something you hadn't really considered.

Oh, I would not settle for less than 2500 CFM personally.

It sounds like a really nice projects. Good luck!

it has no shroud, would that affect cooling. and watch your fingers.

If you upgrade your radiator then I dont think youll need to upgrade your fan, just lower the fan temp. when they come on, when you get it tuned.

First, what is your e-mail? I'll send you the radiator PN.

Second, don't not waste money on an electric water pump and fan when you still have a ton of crap to buy.

Thrid, keep in mind your clutch sucks and you probably wouldn't be able to get your car dyno tuned because of it.

Fourth, when you put in a better clutch, you'll probably break your T5 like I did and have to fork out money for that.

Fifth, your 3.73's are going to suck and will not allow you to go to the track, so thats more money.

Six, once your car actually has some power, your bfgs are going to last about two weeks.

Seventh, did you get your fuel pump in?

This negative attitude is not going to help the project.

However,
As you know I did NOT get an electric water pump.

Might as well get a new clutch and why not a new tranny while I'm at it.

You're right might as well order up some 3.27s.

No, I dont think my BFGs will last 2 weeks, you are going to ruin them when I let you borrow them so my turbo won't use them at all.

And no I did not get my fuel pump in.:D
