That;'s not it. Looks like someone tried to make one however.

The OEM one bolts to the rad support about 2" behind whatever that thing is.

You might find one at a junkyard on a Mark 7 or other fox-chassis vehicle.

If not, late model might have one

LRS has them, but if your car is overheating, that ain't the problem. I've run my LX without it for almost 10 years and never had a problem. My wife's car was running a little warm on the highway last year, I reinstalled it on her car and it made no difference at all. Have your radiator checked out. If it is starting to get plugged up, it can cause the kind of issue. That was the problem with my Saleen when I first got it and ended up being the problem on her Cobra as well.

That piece not only helps direct air in front of the coil but also creates a low pressure area behind the coil to help pull air through it. If it was unnecessary, imagine all the money Ford could have saved by not installing them.

Anecdotal experience varies, as does it matter what model the car is, and if it has a opening in the nose.

Try to ensure the radiator is sealed on the sides and around the fan. With cooling systems, lots of little things add up to help quite a bit.

Good luck.

I say again, spend the $35 to get your radiator flow checked. That piece of plastic didn't lower the temp on my wife's car even one degree, as read on the Auto Meter temperature gauge. Further, if it is a problem that recently manifested itself, it didn't come from the lack of having it on there. There's another problem.

If it is not overheating, just running hot I would get it and see if it helps out. Get rid of that ghetto rig you have.

I'd stick it on and see if that helps. It's supposed to be there for a reason. If the rad has issues then it will show with or without that part, but try the simple stuff first

If you still have the condenser in place, check between the condenser and the radiator for debris.

i need to remove the condensor, as its the last part of the ac left on the car. i'll order that part, and install it and remove the condensor. if that doesnt help i have been debating a new rad setup, so i'll go that route

I agree.

Mines been missing for quite some time.
I also get to see under a lot of cars at my buddies shop and i'd say the majority of cars are missing them.

Besides, your car looks to be an lx, which means there is plenty of air going through the grill.

My vote is for a plugged up radiator.
