cooling issues?

ok so i finally put in my new clutch and what not and went to drive it today if im cruising about 60-70 the car is fine but if i start playing gettin on it and WOT the car starts to over heat im thinkn its either the thermostat or the radiator anyone wanna chime in on what it might be?

Cooling issues

Mine did the same thing and the Radiator was clogged and went to have it cleaned at the Radiator shop. But check the Thermostat first.

ya i think im gonna go with this mishimoto radiator and anyone kno what degree the mishimotor thermo is? im gonna go with a 160 degree thermo and then call it a day for that hopefully that will fix the problem?

Did it used to run hot before?

I'd use a balanced 180 or 195 stat.

Yeah DON'T use a 160 thermo. Go with a 180.

Make sure the thermostat is opening, and make sure you have flow. Go from there.

Lol. Way to throw parts are a problem blindly.


Does then radiator even look bad? If you don't see scale deposits on the fins internally then it's prob not bad.

How's the fan clutch?

Radiator cap still good?

Any seepage from the water pump weep holes?

Stick with a 180 or stock 195 stat. Do not go 160....this is not a carbed car.

problem solved lots of rust on the fins of the radiator will replace soon but not the problem was the thermostat so stuck a 180 in there and its all good
