hey guys,

quick question, My car runs like a raped ape when its cold (which can be expected) but it tends to get pretty doggy when things warm up. Sorry I can't give you any temp specs, I still have the original temp gauge. Anywho, what can I all do to run my car cooler. I know one option would be going to a deeper rad, but what else can be done?

thanks

john

Just to get some of the preliminaries out of the way:

Do you have a fan shroud?

What temperature thermostat do you have in there? I can imagine someone putting a hotter thermostat in for MN.

Are you running 50/50 antifreeze and water or some other ratio?

no idea on the stat, but it is a 50/50 mix and yes there is a shroud

and actually, lol, the car came from NV.

but its been rebuilt so I'm assuming its a standard thermostat. it looked like a new one when i put in the cam.

Unless it's overheating, it's not the block temp that is hurting your power.

I'd look into leaning out the tune a little and some sort of a cold air intake, ram-air, shaker, etc..
