Was a nice night so I decided to take a short cruise around some of my local country roads. Well after driving behind a guy doing 30 in a 45 mph zone for 3 miles I hooked a right on a good twisty I usually take the stang on. Speed limit is 45 I believe, I was probably doing about 55 when I saw the fuzz. Luckily I spotted his reflectors and tapped my brakes, my radar detector did not go off. Anyways he pulls out behind me, follows me for a good 2 miles or so and turns off on a road that later intersects the same road I am driving on... Thank god I knew this so I continue driving the speed limit and sure enough there he was at the intersection hiding out with only his parking lights on. Follows me another 3 miles to the town limit where he was forced to give up!

Geez, the lenghts the cops will go to bust a kid driving a stang...

I get this every so often...

The other day a z28 had a run on me, and I turn off the main road because I didn't want any part in that... So I look in my mirror and see a car FLY up behind me, and I figured it was just the Maro guy following me, but a street light soon revealed it was a popo...followed me for a good 2 miles to my girlfriends house. Once I dropped her off I saw him again waiting behind some trees.

Then today, driving through my moms town there were atleast 6 cops waiting for people to break the speed limit coming into town for the fireworks. One of which was on some crappy country road, and right as I am coming down there is a runner coming towards me, so its a no passing zone, but I have to get over anyway, and the cop, right when he sees me get over shifts in his (wide) seat and looks as if he's about to turn his lights on...but I think he realized I didn't do anything wrong lol.

That has happened to me twice last fall. I wasn't doing anything stupid. I certainly wasn't speeding. I didnt rev at anyone. Hell, there was no cars to rev at or race because both times were after midnight and the roads were pretty empty. And during the second time, just a couple miles away, a local Jaguar dealership had over $35K worth of wheels stolen because that cop was too busy following me instead of busting real criminals.

I don't have that problem much. When i went to buy fireworks on Monday, i had a state trooper at the fireworks stand say "So when we gonna line them up and run them? We're getting the chargers in a few weeks" I told him i was deploying but to meet me at the same spot on Aug. 20th at 3:00pm and we'd run. I don't think i ever have to worry about him givin me a ticket now :rlaugh:

That sounds just like the cops in my town and they will follow you
for not reason just to mess with you instead of busting the real criminals.
Stupid pigs. :notnice:

I had a cop waiting at the end of my long, windy road from my house...

Probably because I passed 12 cars...but hell it's too easy when the lead car is doing 30 MPH in a 55 zone!!!!

Well, here we go again with the cop bashing. See, when you get busted for speeding, then the only thing you can come up with is "cops need to bust real criminals", well that's pretty lame. Try taking some personal responsibility for what you did. The way I see it, over 42,000 people are killed every year in traffic related crashes. Sounds like traffic and speed enforcement are pretty important.

Those are the dumb a$$'s, I agree to take some responsibility, But sometimes it seems like there is officers here and there that take it to far. Just like in everyone elses job you have some jerk you have to work with, I know really cool cops and me my fare share of the not so cool. You just have to out smart em.

Yeah he should have been guarding the Jaguar dealership, like a rent a cop. Lord knows the those Jaguar dealerships are THICK with criminals all the time, always a high crime area. MY GOD he should have KNOWN someone would be there stealing wheels. Cops are all psychic you know.

All from one months worth of following someone for "not" reason til we found pc for a stop. God forbid we pulled over a "real" criminal.

Yea its easier to chase around a bunch of harmless kids than to put your life on the line and catch the bad guys. Typical cops.

Yeah....typical. Like one of the officers I attended a funeral for here a few months ago, after he was murdered during a traffic stop. Him and the hundred or so other officers killed in traffic stops every year. Shoulda been looking for the bad guys instead I guess. Typical.

We're all so scared that we choose a line of work where one of us dies every 53 hours.

We're to scared to work were we get this...

Slaying suspect linked to 'hit' boast

By Jan Ackerman and Torsten Ove, Post-Gazette Staff Writers

For several weeks, the police in Aliquippa had heard rumors about a "hit list" with some of their names on it, but most of them weren't much worried.

After all, this is the same town where the former chief, Bill Alston, exchanged a volley of close-range gunfire with a juvenile and where residents of Valley Terrace, a housing development on a hill behind the police station, once fired shots at patrol cars in the parking lot.

"You get threats all the time," one officer said yesterday.

Thursday night was different.

James William Naim, a young Aliquippa officer working in his first police job, was ambushed and killed. And state police say Jamie M. Brown, the second man arrested in the shooting, boasted to informants that he had a "hit list of policemen" who were going to die and that "this was only the first and there would be other policemen killed."

Right here in my little county where "nothing ever happens".

But we're all too scared to put our lives on the line for less than 50K a year.

Simple Fix. Don't speed. Some people make it sound as if the cop is in wrong for doing his job

Or....get the plate number and file a formal complaint of how this ticket writer likes to abuse his power and intimidate the citizens.:flag:

I think the point being made here is that too often the police seek out a car like the Mustang to watch and even if we haven't done anything wrong they might pull us over "just to check things out" and make up some lie to justify this. I often take my dd out to the clubs instead of the Mustang just to avoid getting messed with. I have at least three tickets over the years where I wasn't doing anything wrong but the cop made something up after pulling me over. That just doesn't happen in my dd Grand Am.

In my town, the cops pay absolutly no attention to street racing or speeders, and I have no idea why. I mean, i've speed past cops many times, where I should have been stopped for it, well over the limit, and, never anything, and mine's the performance red, so it stands out a bit. Also my town is soooo cluttered with imports, there's almost no stangs AT ALL. In fact I have'nt even had the "chance" to race a stang in my town, not that I would, I dont beat my car for ego purposes, only to crunch numbers at the track, but anyways, sometimes I do speed some, and never a problem. I guess i'm just lucky, but what I dont get, is there's just soooo freakin many imports, mostly young ppl, and they drive like maniacs, especially when they see my car, virtually every import I come across, they act ignorant, ie: Tailgate, rev engine, burnouts, try to get me to race, all that stuff. I never do anything except one thing, i'll slow down a bit if someone is tailgating, just enough to have like 4k in second gear, then mash it to the floor and pull a quick 10 cars, then they dont bother me, cause they realize their car has'nt a chance in hell, if not for all the smoke, then certainly for their blown ear drums :D

But yeah, I gotta say, our cops are just, well, I dont even know how to describe it, they simply dont care. Imports are always racing, I see atleast one race every day. Also just a note, my town is nick-named the "6th Borough". Pretty much everyone here is from brooklyin or manhatten NY.

I think the cops are just having hell with drugs, and dont have time to deal with anything else....in fact now that I think about it, that's probably exactly it. Where I live in Stroudsburg, PA, just hop on the highway and in 80 minutes you're in NY. Obviously we have serious drug problems, mostly crack, but herion is taking over really bad.

For the guy talkin trash about cops, keep ur mouth shut unless you've ever spent 5 minutes putting your life on the line for anything. Military or police, whichever, have some respect.....I never thought i'd see a comment like that after watching all of the police run into the burning towers...most of the "Pig-haters" shut up after that...i'm just a little disgusted by that remark, dont mean to offend anyone.

:SNSign:

Well I do mean to offend.. If your not doing anything wrong then STFU

Police have jobs to do, and if they see something then they have the duty to check it out. Sometimes they may see something then when they follow find out they were mistaken. GET OVER IT!!!

Cops doing their job doesnt bother me....but messing with people ticks me off. But I guess you have your bad peeps in every line of work.

IMO most cops are too cocky and think they are above the law.
Heck my uncle was bragging about wrighting like 8 tickets in one day for bad inspection stickers. Then my dad walks over to his car and is like "um, you have been writing tickets all day long and your breaking the law yourself....your tags are out"

And my uncle says "Oh well, it doesnt matter....im a cop" .

So please dont act like all cops are high and mighty....we all mess up. Yes even cops. :nice:
