Correct positioning of interior handles?

alright this is a weird question, but what is the correct placement for the door/window handles in a 66 coupe? Are they supposed to be horizontal, vertical etc when the windows are up? What about the door handles, horizontal or angled up or what?

i finally got around to installing my handles tonight, but dont know how they should look.

The door handles should slant forward at about the 2:00 o'clock and 10:00 o'clock positions. If you have pony handles, the base should be horizontal.

I usually install the window handles so they are also slanted forward when the window is rolled all the way up or down. This keeps the handle away from my knee.

Make sure you ask 66 Blake 96 this question. He use to pester me about the position of my handles. Now that I have my fancy, smancy billet handles I can put them the way I want.

If there is such a thing as the "correct" positioning of the handles, then whoever came up with it, needs to GET A LIFE!!!

I always installed them so that when the window was either all the way up or down , my knee didn't hit them. Door handles are best installed to where they're the most comfortable to operate. Screw what any body else says. If they do tell you they're wrong, then tell them to buy their own car and install them anyway they choose, it's your car , do what you want

yeah, i just installed them so that they're out of the way. i was kinda curious if there was actually a correct placement of them. my car is by no means factory correct though.

Here is a photo of how the door and window handles are in my 65.....every 65-6 I have been in they have been the same way so I assume they are right.

hehe...just realized the window is down...not alot of use then is there I'll look for a better pic

They have one, telling us that it's wrong.

I put the window cranks at a position with the window closed that will not vibrate down and open the window.

My door handles are in a cup, so there's not much choice there.

And about door handles.. I intend on positioning mine exactly where I want them to be... I dont give a crap where the factory put them.. but then I'm not interested in being stock about anything... I want things to work well.
